Fix Analytic Solver Activation, Install, & Passwords

This article explains steps to follow when you encounter issues with your Analytic Solver license or activation, including how to register, where to download and install the desktop product, how to reset passwords for the website and for the Excel add-in, and basic troubleshooting steps to try before contacting support.

Before you begin

  • Ensure you have registered an account appropriate to your user type:
    • Students and professors: https://www.solver.com/welcome-students
    • Commercial users: https://www.solver.com/analytic-solver-platform#registration-form

Download and install (confirmed prerequisites)

  1. Go to https://www.solver.com/.
  2. Click "Download" in the website ribbon, choose "Download Analytic Solver Desktop" and click the yellow "Download Now" box.
  3. Run the downloaded installer and follow the Installation Wizard.
    • The installer automatically detects 64-bit or 32-bit Excel.
    • Accept the License Agreement and choose a destination folder or keep the default.
  4. After installation, verify that both the Analytic Solver and Data Science tabs appear in the Excel ribbon.
  5. After installation you may be prompted to enter your license information or sign in with your registered account to activate the software.

If you cannot sign in or activate

  • Confirm the account you registered with and that you are entering the correct credentials.
  • If you do not have your account or license information available, gather details about your license type and any error messages before contacting support.

Resetting your password

  • Website password reset (for the solver.com site): use https://www.solver.com/user/password
  • In-Excel (add-in) password reset: use https://analytic-solver.net/User/ForgotPasswordAccount

Note: Resetting your password on the website does NOT reset the password used inside Excel. Use the appropriate reset link for the component you need to sign in to.

Check your email

  • If you request a password reset and do not receive the email, check your spam or junk folder as the message may have been filtered there.

What to provide when contacting support

  • Provide your license type and any exact error messages you encounter so support can assist more quickly.
  • If you requested a password reset and still did not receive the email after checking spam/junk, report that when you contact support.

Follow the installation steps and verify the Excel ribbon tabs appear. Use the correct password reset link depending on whether you need access to the website or the Excel add-in, and check spam/junk folders for reset emails. If issues persist, collect your license type and any error messages and contact support for further assistance.
